I went to the Johnson blurb. I remain confused, however, because it seems as if the (selective) &quot;self-criticism&quot; some have decided we need to have publicly seems to be within a reactionary framework. Michael Eric Dyson, Kevin Powell, et. al. don&#039;t have to go there. Perhaps it&#039;s because they&#039;re trying to organize and educate us, not rant. Where&#039;s the self-criticism of, for example, a) us not being self-defining and self-determining enough?, and b) &quot;growing up&quot; by creating our own institutions to implement our own agendas? Not in Esquire! Instead, it&#039;s &quot;niggers ain&#039;t shit,&quot; blah, blah, blah, etc. Easy hit, and not bad for your career, either.</description>
